DEPARTMENT OF NEUROLOGY

The Unit of Neurology looks after patients with neurological problems involving Brain & Spinal cord disorder both emergencies & long term problems.
The Dept of Neurology looks after the following disorders:-

This department is a well established dept since 1994 and has state of art equipment special in the form of an out-patient clinic, diagnostic facilities which include high-end CT Scan (Somatom Sensation 40 Slice), a 16 channel Nihon Kohden EEG Recorder, Nihon Kohden EMG and Nerve Conduction Studies machine with facilities for Somatosensory, Visual and Auditory Evoked Potentials.

The dept is equipped to handle both emergencies and chronic cases with facilities for Plasmapheresis and Inj.Botulinum Toxin Therapy for Focal Dystonias such as Hemi Facial Spasm, Blepharospasm and Torticolis.

The Neurology ICU handles all emergencies with round the clock monitoring of patients excellent group of resident doctors.

Department of Neurology is the most busy dept in Wanless Hospital established since 1994 which has been shifted to the new premises called MINS (Miraj Institute of Neurosciences)

It also has 16 Channel portable EEG machine rendering services to different ICU’s of hospital as well as out - side hospitals doing EEG for the patients who are sick and are unable to come to the department.
