For a hospital such as ours, keeping the majority of our databases online at once is essential, because many users access them for a variety of purposes. 

 PRESENT NETWORK  SET - UP :

The Computer Department houses an HP-9000 D-Class server.  Seventeen terminals are installed across the various departments and connect to the server through  switches and a Lansterm. Two switches are in place, one in the  Computer Department and one in the Pharmacy Out Stores Department. Both switches are 16-port units with 10/100 mbps data  transfer speed. A single 16-port Lansterm is also located in the Computer Department.

Programming is done with INFORMIX Version 6.04, and the operating system is HP-UX 10.10.  Both the programming and  operating system  software reside on the server. INFORMIX is an 8-user licensed product. Every program developed by Computer Department staff  and  the data entered into those programs by the various departments are stored on the server.

 During the year 1996 � 2005 following In -House software development projects were completed by WHIPS.
